DISTURBIA - what do you see? This body of work and poem look at how emotions govern the way we view life. The poem links to the images through verses 2-6 and together they ask what do you see and what does it reveal about you? If you go out into your garden today What do you think your eyes will meet . . . Will you see the shining light of the day Or is it the darkness that you seek Will you notice the Fairy asleep Or the red Dragon flying high Maybe a salutation to the sun Whilst an Angel chances by Shall a Fairy galleon cross your path Or a Pirate ship steal your mind A Stairway to Heaven be there in sight Or a Phoenix for you to find A Fairy Queen and her attendants gracing by The Ballet chorus working hard Junior Fairies pause to admire The Singing Tree of the Crystal Shard |
In the wings do the Fairy Dancers peek Or perhaps a Dark Lord marches on Fairies of the Ballet take a bow Whilst Witches cast their spells beyond A Helter Skelter across the sky A Princess imprisoned in her bower A puppet clown walks jerkily by Dance with an Angel in the final hour So what’s in your mind as you walk nature's path Is your mind shut to all that’s there Or do you embrace the beauty of the day And it’s bright magic if you dare Perhaps your mind is black and full of woe And thus the darker forces that you see The scarier side of life bruising your mind The path you walk too dark to be Will you go out in your garden today And take imagination as your key And what you unlock there, is it dark or light Pray tell me what you see. |
